Big Data, Data Analytics, and Blockchain

Overview

Big data analytics involve complex applications with advanced analytic techniques, such as predictive models, statistical algorithms, and causal inference, run against very large, diverse big data sets that include structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. This data may come from a wide variety of sources such as sensors, devices, networks, log files, transactional applications, Web and social media.  New technologies and techniques for big data analytics are needed to address challenges of 4V's - Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and provide enterprises and consumers with greater confidence in the integrity of the data and analysis results. Our core research includes the development of novel technologies and practical systems in the areas of blockchain, causal learning, cloud computing, data mining, database and information systems, information retrieval, and natural language processing.
