Gaven Smith

Gaven Smith graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2000, with a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering. He was very active while on campus serving as the commander of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, Vice President of Interfraternity Council, and was also recognized as a "Razorback Classic".

He has 15 years of software development experience, with 11 of those in a leadership capacity. His first 8 years professionally were spent at Acxiom Corporation, where he supported key technologies in support of customer marketing database solutions. He had management responsibilities for their core R&D area, in addition to stints with technologies such as AbiliTec and Market Edge-X.  He has since served as Director of Information Technology at JB Hunt. He has development responsibilities for the operations and sales systems that support this multi-billion dollar transportation company.

Gaven is a passionate supporter of the CSCE program. He firmly believes some of the best and brightest minds in the area can be found there. He has hired more than 60 CSCE students since his graduation, many of whom are now in leadership themselves.

Gaven is an active member of the CSCE Advisory Board, Arkansas Athletes Outreach and Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA. He lives in Rogers and has two children, Kaden and Payton.
