Master's Graduation Checklist

  • Turn in Master's Advisory Committee form
    • Turn in the Master's Committee form to the CSCE Departmental Office immediately following or at the time of admission to the program of study. This consists of a major adviser and at least two other members that are all active CSCE faculty.
  • Turn in Master's Thesis Title form
    • Turn in the Master's Thesis Title form to the CSCE Departmental Office as soon as thesis topic has been established and approved by thesis director, but no later than three months prior to the date of the comprehensive exam.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 semester hours of master's thesis
    • Those presenting a master's thesis as a part of the requirements for the master's degree must register for a minimum of six semester hours of master's thesis. Registration beyond six hours carries no degree credit. Consult your thesis director concerning registrations for thesis. NOTE: The mark of "R" is the only acceptable mark reported when a thesis is in progress.
  • Turn in preliminary copies of thesis
    • It is highly recommended that you present a preliminary copy to the Graduate School to check for formatting problems and adherence to page number specifications.
  • Fill out appropriate forms
  • Turn in final copy of thesis with forms
    • When the thesis is approved by the committee, one unbound copy of thesis (on 100% cotton paper) with the appropriate forms is due to the Graduate School no later than two weeks before the degree is conferred. Also submit two unbound copies to the CSCE Departmental Office.
  • Schedule master's examination at least ONE week before graduation
  • Apply for degree
    • You can now apply for graduation online through your Student Center in UAConnect.
    • The link will appear in your Student Center in the Academics section under My Academics.

    • If you are reapplying to graduate, please use the Reapplication to Graduate Form.
    • Your diploma will be sent six to eight weeks following the last day of classes.
    • Please note that a $85 graduation fee will be billed directly to your Student Account.
    • A late application fee of $25 will be charged if you apply after the posted deadline.
